First Timers
FIRST TIME? Welcome to the West Seattle Yoga Center!
We specialize in working with beginners and new students are welcome at ANY class time!
If this is your first Bikram yoga class, here are a few helpful tips:
1. Drink plenty of water before coming to class
We recommend one gallon of water 12-24 hours before class. Good hydration supports the function of all of your body's systems, and it makes the heat feel comfortable rather than overwhelming.
2. Come on an empty stomach
We recommend not eating 2-3 hours before class. Yoga works the digestive system and eating right before class can make your stomach upset.
3. Arrive 30 minutes before class
This allows plenty of time for registration and orientation.
4. Dress in cool, comfortable clothing
Please wear shorts, tank top, sports bra. No long pants, long sleeves or sweats.
5. What to bring
Please bring a yoga mat, large towel and water to class. These items are also available to rent or purchase at the studio.
6. Take a 2nd class within 24 hours
The second class will feel much easier and will help keep your body from feeling sore.
